Job summary

Peabody Energy’s Centurion Mine in Queensland seeks an experienced Outbye Mining Coordinator to ensure safety and compliance across the operation. You will lead the outbye team, drive performance targets, and develop shift plans in collaboration with support functions to optimise production and resource recovery.

You will oversee safety systems, budgets, and training opportunities, building capability and a proactive safety culture while delivering continuous improvement in underground mining

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar underground coal mining role with safety focus.
• Commitment to proactive safety and safe work practices.
• Leadership of teams to meet production targets and business goals.
• Ability to analyse operations data and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong planning, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive leadership and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance targets while driving safety, cost and resource recovery.
• Lead safety systems, standards and behaviours to foster a proactive culture.
• Build and develop teams to achieve department objectives.
• Identify training opportunities to maintain capability across crews.
• Develop shift work plans with Coordinators and support functions.
• Manage departmental activities within budget; ensure spares and consumables.
• Identify and report opportunities for improvement and coordinate actions.
• Encourage workforce participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support safe and efficient delivery of production targets through planning.
• Promote operational excellence through strong leadership and accountability.
