Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Training Superintendent for our Centurion underground mine, located ~160 kilometres west of Mackay, Queensland.

You will lead the site’s Health, Safety, Training and Emergency Management functions and drive continual safety and workforce capability improvements. You will report to the Compliance Manager and play a key role in risk management, regulatory compliance, and developing practical safety enhancements for a world-class

Qualifications

• Senior Health, Safety and/or Training leadership experience in underground mining.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation and obligations.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence safety outcomes.
• Experience managing training systems and competency frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Health, Safety and Training teams to achieve site safety and business objectives.
• Drive compliance with coal mining legislation and Peabody standards.
• Develop and implement health, safety, training and emergency response strategies.
• Provide expert advice and coaching on risk management and incident prevention.
• Oversee training frameworks and workforce development programs.
• Lead incident investigations, audits, inspections and continuous improvement.
• Monitor site performance using leading and lagging indicators.
• Foster a proactive safety culture built on accountability and visible leadership.
