Job summary

A leading energy company is seeking an experienced Outbye Mechanical Coordinator for its Centurion underground mine in Queensland. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree and at least 2 years of supervisory experience in an underground coal setting. You'll ensure the efficient maintenance of underground infrastructure and lead safety initiatives. About the role:

Peabody are currently seeking an experiencedOutbye Mechanical Coordinator tojoin our Centurion underground mine, Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay.For more information on Centurion visit (centurionmine.com.au)

Reporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and establishment of the underground infrastructure including conveyor systems.

Duties will include:

• Lead a systematic approach in the identification and delivery of sustainable mechanical maintenance processes and methods
• Effective leadership and development of the mechanical maintenance crews to ensure the optimal performance of equipment and delivery of the mine plan.
• Effectively manage engagement with OEMs and contractors
• Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives across crews
• Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment is maintained and periodic calibrations/inspections are recorded
• Ensure underground equipment compliance aligns with site standards
• Assist with budget development and expenditure management via SAP maintenance/purchasing system
• Oversee and provide guidance in the execution of the weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimise any unscheduled work.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Peabody and Centurion site policies and procedures

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:

• Mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or similar leadership role in outbye within an underground coal mine
• Extensive knowledge of conveyor systems, conveyor maintenance and conveyor management essential
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a high performing team
• Proficient with a computerised maintenance management systems (SAP), MS Office suite

In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
