Job summary

Peabody Energy seeks an experienced Outbye Mining Coordinator for Centurion Mine, 160 km west of Mackay. You will ensure compliance with outbye standards, lead safety systems, and drive continuous improvement across the operation, reporting to the Outbye Superintendent.

You will develop shift plans, manage budgeted activities, and lead teams to achieve production targets while maintaining safety excellence and operational performance across one of Australia's newest longwall mines.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership experience in underground coal mining.
• Commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Experience leading teams to meet production targets and business objectives.
• Ability to analyse operational data to drive improvements.
• Excellent planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive leadership and problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance targets while driving safety and cost improvements.
• Lead safety systems, standards and behaviours to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Build and develop teams to achieve departmental objectives and improvements.
• Identify training opportunities to maintain capability across crews.
• Develop shift work plans with coordinators and support functions.
• Manage department activities within budget; ensure spares and consumables.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and coordinate corrective actions.
• Encourage workforce participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support safe and efficient delivery of production targets through planning and coordination.
• Promote operational excellence through strong leadership and accountability.
