Job summary

Anglo American is seeking an experienced Registered Mine Surveyor to join the Technical Services team at Moranbah North Mine. You will lead surveying activities, maintain survey control, and support mine planning, development, longwall and operations.

The role requires current registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland, a mining endorsement, and proven underground coal mine surveying experience. FIFO Brisbane–Moranbah, DIDO and residential options are available.

Qualifications

• Recognition as a Surveying or Spatial Science graduate with relevant qualifications.
• Current registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.
• Mining endorsement suitable for Registered Mine Surveyor in Queensland coal.
• Experience in underground coal mine surveying and controls.
• Knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and survey standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and certify statutory mine plans and survey records.
• Maintain underground and surface survey control accurately.
• Plan, coordinate and complete underground survey activities.
• Provide survey support for development, longwall, infrastructure and mine planning.
• Ensure survey data, field notes, calculations and records are maintained.
• Review results for discrepancies, hazards or risks.
• Provide technical advice to mine planning, engineering and operations.
• Oversee survey work by employees and contractors.
• Maintain clear handovers between rosters and shifts.
• Participate in incident investigations and surveys as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and site safety management.
• Support mentoring of surveyors and technical staff.
