Job summary

Anglo American is seeking experienced Control Room Operators for Moranbah North Mine in Queensland. You will monitor underground mine conditions, coordinate communications and support safe, continuous production in a 24/7 operation.

Reporting to the Compliance Superintendent, you will serve as the central coordination point, ensuring real-time oversight and timely responses to changing mine conditions while collaborating with managers and ERZ Controllers. Strong safety focus required.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Safegas, citect/SCADA.
• Working knowledge of underground coal mining operations.
• Previous experience in Underground Coal Mine Control Room Operators role.
• Gas chromatograph competency.
• Advanced level of computer literacy, particularly with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Exceptional attention to detail and initiative to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate underground activities to support safe, efficient mine operations.
• Communicate changes in mine conditions and ensure timely actions.
• Act as primary communication hub between underground crews and site leadership.
• Provide accurate updates to shift personnel and management.
• Maintain mine monitoring and communication systems to ensure integrity.
• Escalate and coordinate responses to operational issues, alarms and safety incidents.
• Support emergency response activities and maintain incident records.
• Maintain accurate logs and shift reports.
