Job summary

South32 is seeking an Operations Scheduling Engineer for its Queensland operations. The role is a permanent position on an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

You will align the weekly Mining schedule with Short-Term Scheduling and Operations teams. Responsibilities include driving execution, solving daily issues, and supporting underground mining operations through scoping and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground mining operations.
• Familiarity with stope, development, drill and blast, ventilation and backfill.
• Ability to contribute to short-term planning and schedule delivery.
• Proven ability to innovate and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive weekly schedule execution with daily realignment meetings.
• Act as daily problem-solver to reduce idle time and resolve issues.
• Support weekly and monthly schedule delivery through scoping.
• Identify improvements for underground mining operations.
