South32 and its Cannington operation in northwest Queensland are seeking an Operations Scheduling Engineer to drive weekly mining schedules and support the short-term plan with the operations team. You will play a key role in aligning execution with the weekly schedule, working with the Short-Term Scheduling and Operational teams to hit targets and reduce idle time through proactive problem-solving.

This position is FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa and nearby shires.

Qualificações

• Experience in underground mining operations.
• Knowledge of stope, development, drill and blast, ventilation, backfill, and/or short-term planning.
• Experience in Deswik Ops highly regarded.
• Innovate and drive continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Trade or Degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.

ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Operations Scheduling Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support to the Operations team by driving alignment to the weekly Mining schedule. You'll work closely with the Short-Term Scheduling and Operational teams to meet operational targets.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Drive execution of weekly schedule through daily re-alignment meeting and follow up actions.
• Daily problem-solver for execution team - the aim is to reduce idle time and fight fires efficiently.
• Scoping to support weekly and monthly schedule delivery.
• Take initiative to identify and suggest improvements for underground mining operations

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Experience in underground mining operations
• Knowledge of stope, development, drill and blast, ventilation, backfill, and/or short-term planning
• Experience in Deswik Ops highly regarded
• Innovate and drive continuous improvement
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications for this position are:

• Trade or Degree qualified, or industry experience paired with relevant qualification
