Job summary

South32 is seeking a Supervisor Underground Projects (Mechanical) to lead mechanical capital projects through execution, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and budget control with a smooth handover to operations.

Two 24‑month fixed term contracts are available on an 8:6 roster, with FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville/Cairns or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires. The role focuses on underground mining project supervision and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Underground supervision experience is required.
• Experience delivering construction or capital projects in mining/heavy industry.
• Strong stakeholder relationships across operations and contractors.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritise competing project activities.
• Excellent communication across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project variations and update project systems.
• Maintain quality documentation, completions records and work packs.
• Provide constructability input during study phases.
• Manage permits, shutdowns and cross-functional interfaces.
