Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Coordinator for Centurion Mine, located about 160 km west of Mackay, QLD. You will coordinate planned mechanical maintenance and projects, support asset reliability and drive maintenance excellence in underground infrastructure.

Reporting to the Manager Engineering & Maintenance, you will provide technical input, oversee contractor performance, and ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery of outcomes.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification or Engineering degree.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a coordination, supervisory or similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of underground mining mechanical infrastructure including pumping, compressed air and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the safe execution of planned mechanical maintenance and project activities.
• Provide technical input into project scope development and implementation.
• Support operational and capital budget development and expenditure management.
• Lead and manage contractor performance to ensure safety, quality and schedule requirements.
• Apply sound maintenance principles to improve equipment reliability and availability.
• Provide technical support for underground mechanical infrastructure including compressed air, cooling and dewatering systems.
• Participate in safety interactions, incident investigations and hazard management.
