MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees invites applications for a full-time Mechanical Engineering Apprentice at Aquila Mine, 32km south of Middlemount, QLD. The four-year program leads to MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade and offers hands-on experience with experienced tradespeople.

Responsibilities

• Learn maintenance tasks from engineering drawings and plans.
• Develop fault-finding on fixed plant equipment during planned and breakdown maintenance.
• Learn condition monitoring techniques and inspection practices to identify potential failures.
• Participate in planned shutdowns, breakdown response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understand mining safety standards, isolation procedures, risk management and permit-to-work systems.
