MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Middlemount QLD is recruitingElectrical Apprentices for a four-year training pathway at Aquila Mine, located 32km south of Middlemount. You will work full-time alongside skilled tradespeople, beginning your journey to become a qualified electrician.

The program combines hands-on mine-site experience with tailored training plans and offsite TAFE courses, starting in early 2027, with a 4/3 roster and early start times to learn safety-first electrical practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in electrical work and safety.
• Ability to listen, learn and actively seek new learning opportunities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good level of language, literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a four-year apprenticeship at Aquila Mine.
• Gain hands-on experience installing, servicing, maintaining, repairing, isolating, testing, and commissioning electrical systems.
• Work with high-voltage equipment, communications systems and backup power infrastructure.
• Follow safety practices in a real-world mining environment.
