Job summary

MCA Engineering seeks an Underground Leading Hand, Boilermaker & Servicemen / Timbermen to join our crews for construction, installation and maintenance across Australia. You’ll work with our underground teams delivering critical works on-site.

This role requires underground experience, relevant trade qualifications, and the ability to operate on a 2:2 FIFO roster, including day and night shifts. High‑risk licences are highly regarded, with safety always a priority.

Qualifications

• Underground experience is essential.
• Trade qualifications for Leading Hand and Boilermaker positions.
• Experience in underground services or timbering for Serviceman/Timberman roles.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work within a team.
• Available for FIFO on a 2:2 roster including day and night shifts.
• High-risk work licences (rigging, non-slewing mobile crane, forklift) highly regarded.

Responsibilities

The Roles

You’ll work alongside our underground crews to deliver construction, installation and maintenance works.

Depending on your role, responsibilities may include:

• Leading crews and coordinating daily underground work activities
• Completing fabrication, welding and structural installation work
• Installing and maintaining underground services and infrastructure
• Undertaking timbering and general underground construction tasks
• Assisting with materials handling and equipment installation
• Following site safety procedures and maintaining quality workmanship

About You

• Previous underground experience is essential
• Relevant trade qualifications for Leading Hand and Boilermaker positions
• Relevant experience in underground services or timbering for Serviceman / Timberman positions
• Strong safety focus and ability to work effectively within a team
• Available for FIFO work on a 2:2 roster, including day and night shifts
• Multiple high-risk work licences, including rigging, non-slewing mobile crane and forklift, will be highly regarded
