Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking an Underground Electrical Technician to join the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine's Maintenance team. This full-time role provides frontline electrical support, ensuring safe, timely and cost-efficient operations.

The position operates on a FIFO roster (8 days on, 6 days off) with flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie, and requires a WA Electrical Licence and mining electrical experience.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence required.
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience essential.
• Underground mining electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate desirable (can assist to obtain).
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and installations on motors, transformers, substations, panels and other electrical systems.
• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently.
• Install and maintain underground reticulation systems for reliable power distribution.
• Conduct breakdown and maintenance tasks on underground drilling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Study plans and orders to determine work requirements and sequence.

We are now seeking anElectrical Technicianto join ourUnderground Electrical Maintenance teamin our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor: you will have the opportunity to provide front line support and ensure all electrical works are carried out in a safe, timely, cost effective and environmentally responsible manner.

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

Accountabilities:

• Doing repairs, maintenance and installation activities on infrastructure such as, motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMU’s, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems
• Carrying out scheduled statutory requirements work safely and efficiently.
• Installing and maintaining underground reticulation systems, ensuring reliable power distribution.
• Conducting breakdown and maintenance tasks on underground drilling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and or installations
• Availability after hours on a “Call Out” roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown
• Assist with equipment maintenance shutdown or power isolation co-ordination and execution

About You

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential)
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience (Desirable)
• Data cabler’s license advantageous
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential)
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience is preferred
• Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian Standards.
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate – however can assist with obtaining
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP
• Senior First Aid
• Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)
