Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia seeks an Electrical Technician for the Underground Electrical Maintenance team at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. The role supports front-line electrical works and ensures safe, timely, cost-effective operations from Perth/Kalgoorlie FIFO rosters.

Based on Sunrise Dam, the role offers after-hours call-out, maintenance shutdown support, and a pathway to contribute to a premier mining operation. High safety standards and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential).
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience (Desirable).
• Data cabler’s license advantageous.
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential).
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of WHS (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards.
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate; assistance with obtaining possible.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP.
• WA C Class manual driver's license.
• Senior First Aid
• Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance and installation on motors, VSDs, transformers, substations and related electrical systems.
• Carry out scheduled statutory work safely and efficiently.
• Install and maintain underground reticulation systems for reliable power distribution.
• Conduct breakdown and maintenance on underground drilling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Study plans and orders to determine work requirements and sequences.
• Be available after hours on a call-out roster to respond to breakdowns.
• Assist with shutdowns or power isolation coordination and execution.

We are now seeking anElectrical Technicianto join ourUnderground Electrical Maintenance teamin our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor: y ou will have the opportunity to provide front line support and ensure all electrical works are carried out in a safe, timely, cost effective and environmentally responsible manner.

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

Accountabilities

• Doing repairs, maintenance and installation activities on infrastructure such as, motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMU’s, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems
• Carrying out scheduled statutory requirements work safely and efficiently.
• Installing and maintaining underground reticulation systems, ensuring reliable power distribution.
• Conducting breakdown and maintenance tasks on underground drilling equipment to minimize downtime.
• Studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and or installations
• Availability after hours on a "Call Out" roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown
• Assist with equipment maintenance shutdown or power isolation co-ordination and execution
