Job summary

Anglo American’s Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah invites a Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services team on a permanent basis. You will contribute to the mine’s return to longwall production, establishing and maintaining ventilation and gas management systems to support a safe, compliant and productive operation.

You’ll coordinate mine planning inputs (weekly, short-range, monthly, 5 yearly and business planning) and drive improvement programs across safety, production and efficiency, reporting

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
• Knowledge of mining legislation and its application.
• High level of planning and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in underground mining operations (preferably coal).
• Experience with mine planning tools: XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner, Deswik.

Responsibilities

• Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine, ensuring safety systems and legislation compliance.
• Plan and coordinate weekly, short-range, monthly, 5-year and business planning activities and production review meetings.
• Monitor, analyse and report mine performance and manage projects.
• Contribute to ventilation, gas management, mine planning and technical projects.
• Support operations team and interact with designated process coordinators.
• Identify productivity and process improvement opportunities in safety, production, cost and efficiency.
• Lead the permit to mine process to maintain continuity of production.
• Apply Safety & Health principles in all site interactions and take ownership for site safety.
