Job summary

Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah, Queensland, is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join the Technical Services team on a permanent basis. You will coordinate mine planning inputs and support ventilation and gas management systems for a safe, compliant restart of longwall operations.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will oversee planning activities, monitor performance, and drive improvement programs across safety, production and efficiency, while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Detailed understanding of coal mining processes.
• Knowledge of mining legislation and safety standards.
• Strong planning and problem-solving ability.
• Well-developed communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in underground mining operations (preferred).
• Experience with mine planning tools (XPAC, IntelliCAD, AutoCAD, Mine Planner, Deswik).

Responsibilities

• Deliver mining engineering services and support to the mine, ensuring safety compliance.
• Plan and coordinate mine planning (weekly, short-range, Monthly, 5 yearly and business planning) and production review meetings.
• Monitor, analyse and report mine performance and manage projects.
• Contribute to ventilation, gas management, mine planning, and technical projects.
• Support designated process coordinators and interact effectively with the Operations team.
• Identify productivity and improvement opportunities in safety, production, cost and efficiency.
• Lead the permit to mine process to ensure continuity to production.
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles on site.
