Job summary

CMW Geosciences in Perth is inviting undergraduate Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology students to join our team on a casual basis with a February 2027 start. You will be mentored by industry professionals and gain hands-on field experience across site investigations, analysis and design tasks.

You will work alongside senior staff, learning practical field skills and benefiting from exposure to the full project lifecycle from day one.

Qualifications

• Be studying Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science degree.
• Ability to complete strenuous fieldwork tasks.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical site investigation, analysis and design tasks under supervision.
• Learn practical field skills on site with senior technical staff guiding your development.
• Contribute to project lifecycle exposure from field to report delivery.

A Typical Day

What You'll Need

• To be studying a Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
• Ability to complete strenuous fieldwork tasks
• Ability to travel when required
• A full Australian driver's license
• A desire to work outside with a love of rocks, soil and geology
• Good interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
