Job summary

CMW Geosciences in Perth is offering a casual internship for Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geologist undergraduates starting February 2027. You'll work with our team on real projects, learning field methods and analysis under supervision.

As part of the Kiwa Group, you’ll gain exposure to client projects across the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors while developing practical field skills and early career growth in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science.
• Ability to perform strenuous fieldwork tasks.
• Ability to travel when required.
• Must hold a full Australian driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist geotechnical site investigations in the field and office.
• Work under senior technical staff guidance to develop practical skills.
• Support project lifecycle tasks from field to report.

After completing the necessary training and inductions, you'll go out in the field to learn the practical field skills that form the basis of the technical work we do. You'll have access to senior technical staff to guide you through the early stages of your career and fast-track your growth. You'll be exposed to the full project lifecycle to start to prepare you for a career from day one. You'll be learning technical, practical and project-related skills.

A Typical Day

What You'll Need

• To be studying a Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
• Ability to complete strenuous fieldwork tasks
• Ability to travel when required
• A full Australian driver's license
• A desire to work outside with a love of rocks, soil and geology
• Good interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
