Job summary

CMW Geosciences in Darwin is seeking motivated Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists with 2+ years of consultancy experience to join our team.

You will supervise fieldwork, apply geotechnical and geological principles, and contribute to major infrastructure and energy projects while advancing your technical and project-management skills. This hands-on role offers onboarding, mentorship and opportunities for progression within the firm.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist in a consultancy.
• Onsite experience essential.
• Full Australian drivers license required, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate geotechnical investigation and fieldwork programs.
• Develop practical geotechnical solutions with engineering and geological principles.
• Support planning, execution and delivery of geotechnical scopes of work with site personnel and contractors.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and field records for project delivery.

About the role

We are looking to bring on motivated and hands-on Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists with 2+ years of experience to join our Team in Darwin.

This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your career as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist, applying your technical expertise across significant infrastructure, transmission and renewable energy projects. You will work in a supportive, collaborative environment while taking on increasing responsibility and building your capability as a well-rounded Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate geotechnical investigation and fieldwork programs, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
• Work closely with technical teams to develop practical geotechnical solutions, applying engineering and geological principles.
• Support the planning, execution and delivery of geotechnical scopes of work, liaising with site personnel, contractors and senior technical staff to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, field records and reports to support project delivery and stakeholder requirements.

What You'll Need

• A Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist part of a consultancy
• Onsite experience
• Previous exposure to proposal preparation and technical report writing
• A full Australian drivers license
• Good interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
