Job summary

Opal Consulting Group has partnered with UG mines in NSW and we are seeking experienced Charge Up Operators to join our clients. Currently we are looking for Charge Up Operators for a site in regional NSW.

Key duties include charge up and development, blast prep and inspections, operating charging equipment, and close collaboration with production crews while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Charge Up or Shotfiring in an underground (UG) mining environment.
• Demonstrated background in UG blasting activities.
• Experience working in production or development within UG mining.
• Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance and Shotfirer's Licence if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Charge up & development including upholes & downholes.
• Blast prep, post-blast inspections, firing & tie-ins.
• Operating various charging equipment.
• Collaborating with production & development crews.
• Identify hazards and maintain high safety standards.
• Transport, store & handle explosives in line with site procedures.

Opal Consulting Group has partnered with several UG mines in NSW and we are on the look out for experienced operators with previous mining experience to join our clients.

• Well established organisation with strong safety focus

• 2:2 FIFO, DIDO, Residential
• Well established organisation with strong safety focus
• $65-$85 / hour depending on experience

Currently we are looking for Charge Up Operators for a site in regional NSW.

The role:

• Production Charge Up & Development including upholes & downholes
• Blast prep and post-blast inspections, firing & tie-ins
• Operating various charging equipment
• Close collaboration & engagement with production & development crews
• Inspecting work areas, identifying hazards and ensuring all work is completed safely
• Charge up of headings, stopes & rises in an effient and safe manner
• Following site procedures in transporting, storing & handling explosives as well as stock control
• Maintain and advocate for high safety and operational standards

About you:

• Previous experience in Charge Up or Shotfiring in an UG mining environment
• Demonstrated background in UG blasting activities
• Experience working in production or development within UG mining
• Currently holds or ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
• Current Shotfirer's Licence or ability to obtain one
• Be willing to undertake and pass a drug & alcohol screen and mandatory pre-employment checks
