Job summary

Redpath Mining is seeking an experienced Charge Up Operator for underground tolls at Lake Cowal. The role focuses on safe charging of headings and close collaboration with production teams to meet targets in a high-demand mining environment.

The successful candidate will have underground charging experience, a NSW Shotfirer’s Licence (or ability to obtain one), and a strong safety mindset with a track record of compliant operations and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Previous underground mining experience as a Charge Up Operator.
• Current NSW Shotfirer's Licence or the ability to obtain one.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Experience operating emulsion charging units and associated equipment.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely charge development and production blastholes in accordance with site procedures.
• Operate and maintain charging equipment.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and equipment checks.
• Ensure explosives are handled, transported and stored in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Maintain accurate charging and blasting records.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with mining crews to achieve production targets.

Working closely with production and technical teams, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient charging of development and production headings while maintaining compliance with site standards and statutory requirements.
