Job summary

Svitzer Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Tug Master in Fremantle, WA. You will lead a safety-focused crew aboard a tug, ensuring safe, reliable towage and operational readiness daily. Reporting to the Port Manager, you will manage vessel readiness, crew attendance, and compliance with maritime regulations.

You’ll guide inductions, drills, and ongoing training while supporting crew performance and development to sustain high safety and reliability standards in port operations.

Qualifications

• Master <45m Near Coastal CoC or equivalent required (COC)
• LROCP or equivalent available
• AMSA medical with First Aid/CPR certificates must be current and valid

Responsibilities

• Lead tug operations and onboard safety of crew
• Ensure vessel readiness, stores, crews and daily checks
• Maintain safety procedures and maritime regulations
• Support crew development and performance, escalate issues
• Assist with vessel maintenance and keep records up to date
• Lead onboard safety through inductions and drills
