Job summary

Svitzer is seeking a Tug Engineer to keep vessels running safely and reliably in Australian waters. Reporting to the Tug Master, you will maintain engines and deck gear, support winch operations, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.

You’ll bring a Class 3 Near Coastal certificate and current AMSA medical, plus First Aid and CPR. Relocation within Australia or proximity to the port is advantageous for short-notice opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining onboard machinery and deck equipment.
• Knowledge of marine propulsion and auxiliary systems.
• Commitment to safety procedures and incident reporting.
• Provide First Aid and CPR certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all onboard machinery and deck equipment.
• Repair marine systems and equipment as needed.
• Support safe winch operation during towage jobs.
• Identify defects and report them promptly to keep operations on track.
• Prepare maintenance records and operational reports.
