Svitzer Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Tug Engineer to join our Sydney Operations towage team on a casual basis. You will report to the Tug Master and be responsible for keeping vessels running safely, performing routine maintenance, and supporting winch operations during towage.

The role requires an Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency (or equivalent), a current AMSA Medical, and CPR/First Aid certificates.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Experience in towage and tug operations is advantageous.
• Strong focus on safety and procedures.
• Ability to stay calm and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain onboard machinery, including engine and deck equipment.
• Carry out maintenance and repair of marine systems and equipment.
• Support safe and effective winch operation during towage jobs.
• Identify and report defects promptly to keep operations on track.
• Prepare maintenance records and operational reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
