Svitzer is hiring a Tug Engineer to join our Sydney Operations towage team on a casual basis. You will help keep vessels running safely, perform maintenance on engines and deck equipment, and support winch operations during towage tasks.

You’ll bring an Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal certificate, relevant AMSA medicals, and First Aid/CPR. The role emphasizes safety, adaptability, and a willingness to work in a dynamic port environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate or equivalent.
• Current AMSA Medical that matches your COPC.
• Provide First Aid and CPR certificates valid for the role.
• Solid knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems and ancillary equipment.
• Experience in towage and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Maintain onboard machinery including engines and deck equipment.
• Repair and service marine systems and equipment as needed.
• Support safe winch operations during towage.
• Identify defects and report to keep operations on track.
• Prepare maintenance records and operate within safety regs.
