Job summary

Prime Steel Frames and Trusses – St Marys NSW is seeking an experienced Truss Jig Setter and Cutter for a full-time role in our fast-paced manufacturing facility. You will set up jigs, cut timber components, and assemble roof trusses to exacting standards.

The position runs Monday to Friday with an early start at 6.00am and 38 hours per week, with potential overtime. Relevant 3–5 years of experience and blueprint-reading ability are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years experience as Truss Jig Setter or similar in frame/truss manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/plans.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and machinery (e.g., saws, jigs).
• Capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
• Forklift license is a bonus but not essential.
• Own transport preferred due to early start and St Marys NSW location.
• Rights to work in Australia; white card advantageous.

We're seeking an experienced Truss Jig Setter and Cutter to work on a Full time basis in our fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role involves setting up jigs, cutting timber components, and ensuring precise assembly of roof trusses. As a Full time position, you'll enjoy flexible hours Monday to Friday 6.00pm to 2.00pm, with potential for overtime, starting at 38 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust jigs according to blueprints, specifications, and production schedules.
• Operate saws, nail guns, and other power tools to cut timber accurately and efficiently.
• Assemble truss components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
• Inspect materials for defects and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines, including PPE usage.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Truss Jig Setter, Cutter, or similar role in frame and truss manufacturing (minimum 3-5 years preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and machinery (e.g., radial arm saws, jig systems).
• Strong attention to detail, physical fitness, and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 25kg).
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a positive attitude.
• Forklift license experience is a bonus but not essential (training provided if needed).
• Own transport preferred due to early start 6.00am and location in St Mary, NSW, The trail station 15 mins walking.
• Must have rights to work in Australia; white card (construction induction) advantageous.
