Job summary

Southern Downs Regional Council – Warwick QLD is seeking a Water & Wastewater Truck Driver to support civil construction and maintenance across the region. You will operate the water truck, assist with road works and infrastructure projects, and perform general labouring outdoors in our small Water & Wastewater Construction Team.

This permanent, full-time role offers a 9-day fortnight, with pay per fortnight plus a construction allowance and 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• HR licence required.
• White Card (OHS Construction Induction) or ability to obtain.
• Traffic Awareness Part 1 & 2 certificate or ability to obtain.
• Immunisation record Hepatitis A&B or ability to vaccinate.
• Experience with preventative maintenance of trucks.
• Ability to perform physical labour.
• Legal right to live and work in Australia.

Job description

Southern Downs Regional Council – Warwick QLD

As a Water & Wastewater Truck Driver, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of essential civil construction and maintenance works across the region. Working as part of the team, you will be operating the water truck to support road construction, maintenance and other infrastructure projects, helping to keep our communities connected and our assets maintained. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors. You will be operating machinery and contributing to civil construction projects, and they are delivered within the projected timeframes whilst maintaining a safe workplace environment in our small Water & Wastewater Construction Team, as well as performing general labouring duties.

STATUS: Permanent, Full-time

HOURS of WORK: 76 hours per fortnight | 9-day fortnight

PAY LEVEL: $2,628.29 per fortnight (Level 4) + Construction Allowance ($80.90 per fortnight). Plus 12% Superannuation and 17.5% Annual Leave Loading in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award.

Note: Higher duties will be paid at Level 5 ($2,660.09 + Construction Allowance) when towing the trailer, in accordance with the relevant Award.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Legal right to live and work in Australia
• A Class HR (Heavy Rigid) licence or greater is required in this role.
• An Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction Card (White Card); or the ability to obtain.
• Current certificate for Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness Parts 1 & 2; or the ability to obtain.
• Immunisation record indicating Hepatitis A&B vaccinations or immunisation; or the ability to be vaccinated.
• Experience and understanding of appropriate preventative maintenance of trucks.
• Ability to perform physical labouring duties.
