Job summary

Southern Downs Regional Council in Warwick (QLD) seeks a Built Environment Officer to support the Built Environment Team with administration of building, plumbing and drainage applications and to help implement procedures and legislation.

You will undertake preliminary assessment of applications to determine if they are properly made, issue notices where required, and contribute to efficient regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• Legal right to live and work in Australia.
• A Class C licence or higher is required.
• White Card or ability to obtain.
• Experience with development assessment processes and administrative tasks.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation.
• Highly skilled with computers and software/tools.

Southern Downs Regional Council – Warwick QLD

In this role as a Built Environment Officer, you will be supporting the efficient and effective operation of the Built Environment Team by providing administration assistance in building, plumbing and drainage applications and the implementation of procedures and relevant legislation, and undertaking preliminary assessment of building, plumbing and drainage applications to determine if "properly made" in accordance with relevant legislation, including issuing of notices.

Status: Permanent, Full-time

Hours of work: 72.5 hours per fortnight | 9-day fortnight

Pay level: $2,866.59 - $3,334.61 per fortnight (Level 2 -3). Plus 12% Superannuation and 17.5% Annual Leave Loading in accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.

Employment base: Warwick OR Stanthorpe, Queensland (will be negotiated with successful candidate)

• An Occupational Health & Safety Construction Induction Card (White Card), or the ability to obtain.
• Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of development assessment processes, following documented processes and administrative tasks.
• Ability to effectively interpret and apply legislation to achieve outcomes.
• Highly skilled in using computers and a wide range of software and online tools to support efficient and effective work.
