Job summary

Noosa Council is seeking a Tree Maintenance Worker to care for Noosa’s trees and green spaces. The role focuses on proactive maintenance and vegetation management to keep public spaces safe, attractive, and environmentally sustainable.

Help maintain and enhance the trees and green spaces that make Noosa unique. In this hands‑on role, you'll play an important part in delivering proactive tree maintenance and vegetation management across the region, helping to keep public spaces safe, attractive and environmentally sustainable.

• $73,382 base annual salary
• $83,295 Total Remuneration Package which is based on a full‑time employee and inclusive of 12% Employer superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.

About You

You're a motivated and safety‑conscious arboriculture or horticulture professional who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a team. With experience in tree maintenance and plant operation, you take pride in delivering quality work and contributing to the care of community assets and the natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake tree maintenance activities including pruning, planting, trimming, felling and general tree care
• Safely operate and maintain tree maintenance equipment, including chippers, chainsaws, polesaws and trucks
• Support the delivery of reactive and programmed tree maintenance works across Council‑managed land
• Implement traffic management requirements, complete daily records and assist with emergency response activities when required

Skills and Experience

• Experience in tree maintenance, arboriculture or vegetation management
• Experience with tree pruning, felling and maintenance techniques
• Ability to safely operate tree maintenance equipment, including chainsaws, pole saws and wood chippers
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work efficiently within set timeframes
• Well‑developed communication and teamwork skills
• Physical fitness and ability to undertake outdoor manual work, including lifting, climbing and repetitive tasks
• Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements

Qualifications, Training and Licences

• Certificate III or equivalent qualification in Horticulture, Arboriculture or a related discipline
• Chainsaw and Pole saw Units of Competency
• Construction Industry White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
• Medium Rigid (MR) driver licence
• Certificate III in Arboriculture (desirable)
• Traffic Management accreditation, Electrical Awareness and AC/DC Commercial Operator's Licence highly regarded
