Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking an Arboricultural Services Team Leader to guide a skilled crew in delivering safe and high‑quality tree services across Redland Coast's parks, streetscapes and natural areas.

You will lead a team, coordinate operations, and respond to community needs while promoting safety and continuous improvement. This permanent role offers a 9-day fortnight, extensive leave, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in arboriculture or parks maintenance.
• Current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and weekend/holiday operations.
• Eligible to work in Australia.

• Coordinate daily operations, works programs and resource allocation across locations and assets.
• Oversee emergency tree response activities during storm and weather events.

We're seeking experienced and passionate leaders to fill two exciting Arboricultural Services Team Leader opportunities within our Tree Services team. This is your chance to combine your arboricultural expertise with hands-on leadership, guiding skilled crews that help maintain the health, safety and beauty of Redland Coast's parks, streetscapes and natural areas. You'll play a key role in delivering essential tree services, responding to community needs and supporting the growth and development of your team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of arboriculture professionals to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality tree services.
• Coordinate daily operations, works programs and resource allocation across a variety of locations and assets.
• Oversee emergency tree response activities, ensuring timely and effective service delivery during storm and weather events.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and Council requirements.
• Drive team performance, customer service and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and experience:

• Demonstrated experience leading operational teams within arboriculture, vegetation management, parks maintenance or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of arboricultural practices, tree risk assessment and contemporary industry standards.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams while managing competing priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Relevant arboriculture qualifications, licences and operational experience will be highly regarded.

• You'll have a minimum 3 years' experience in the relevant field.
• You'll holda qualification in either of the following:
  • TAFE Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent
  • TAFE Certificate III in Arboriculture
  • Landscape Construction including a playground Inspector - Level 2 Certificate
  • Conservation and Land Management, Fire Management or equivalent.
• You'll hold a current Class 'C' Drivers Licence.
• You'll have the ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster, including remote response and site-related operations over weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.
