Job summary

Unitywater invites applications for a Treatment Plant Operator / Assistant Operator to support safe, reliable operation of our sewage treatment and recycled water plants across Noosa, Coolum, Cooroy and Kenilworth. This temporary role runs through to December 2027, offering hands-on development in the water industry.

About the role:

As a Treatment Plant Operator / Assistant Operator, you will support the safe and reliable operation of Unitywater’s sewage treatment and recycled water plants across Noosa, Coolum, Cooroy and Kenilworth. This is a temporary opportunity through to December 2027, providing hands‑on experience and development within the water industry.

Working alongside experienced Treatment Plant Operators, you will assist with daily plant operations and maintenance, monitor performance using SCADA, collect samples, undertake routine analysis and support basic troubleshooting, data entry and reporting.

You will also help maintain clean, safe and well‑presented sites through general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.

About you:

• A Certificate III in Wastewater Treatment is desirable.
• A current C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience using corporate business systems (desirable).
• A proactive approach to safety and teamwork.
• A willingness to learn and contribute to a supportive team with a strong, positive culture.
