Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Travelling Wind Farm Field Service Technician to provide on-site and remote operational support across a national fleet. You will lead technical troubleshooting, coordinate with site management and engineering teams, and travel frequently to wind farm sites to maximise turbine availability and fleet performance.

The role requires experience in high voltage systems, fault finding, and the ability to work autonomously in remote locations while adhering to safety and QA/QC

Qualifications

• Registered Worker License Electrical (A-Grade) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience in Onshore Wind or similar heavy industry.
• Current High Voltage operating certificate or ability to gain one.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the requirements of manuals, specifications, bulletins and complete tasks per work instructions.
• Perform maintenance and fault finding of assets.
• Act as the HVOA Delegate when required.
• Nominate as the High Voltage operating Authority delegate for the site when required.
• Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures.
• Have a working knowledge of electrical installation requirements.
• Ensure all work complies with SWMS, LOTO and EHS & QA/QC policies.
• Drive a positive reporting culture by identifying errors or incidents in GEV systems.
• Maintain knowledge of REC responsibilities.
• Supervise electrical installation/maintenance work when required.
• Maintain reports using GEV software management tools and databases.
• Submit enquiries to Engineering to resolve technical issues.
• Work closely with Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Service Teams as required.
• Uphold Quality Control by making conformance decisions after tasks and inspections.
• Be available for on-call weekends and nights as directed.
