Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Travelling Wind Farm Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical leadership and rapid troubleshooting across a national fleet of wind farms. The role requires frequent travel, adapts to remote site conditions, and emphasizes safety, reporting, and cross-team collaboration.

You will support management, engineering, sourcing, and service teams, ensuring turbine availability while complying with EHS, QA/QC, and SWMS policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a registered Workers License Electrical (A-Grade or equivalent).
• Five years minimum onshore wind or heavy industry experience preferred.
• Electrical Supervisor nomination and REC responsibilities held or able to gain.
• Knowledge of basic AC/DC circuits and fault analysis; HV switching experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret GEV manuals and complete tasks per work instructions.
• Perform maintenance and fault finding on assets.
• Act as site HVOA delegate when required.
• Be nominated as Electrical Supervisor per REC license and perform related duties.
• Conduct high voltage switching per site procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SWMS, LOTO, EHS & QA/QC policies.
• Report issues promptly using GEV systems.
• Maintain installation/maintenance reports and liaise with management, engineering and service teams.
• Be part of on-call roster for weekends/nights as directed.
• Champion safety and participate in EHS audits.
