Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Travelling Wind Farm Service Technician to provide critical on-site support across the national fleet. You will deliver technical leadership, rapid troubleshooting of electrical assets, and ensure maximum turbine availability.

Expect frequent travel to various wind farm sites and collaboration with site management, engineering teams, and clients. The role requires HV experience, a registered Electrical license, and the ability to climb turbines and work remotely.

Qualifications

• Must hold a registered Workers License Electrical (A-Grade or equivalent).
• Five years minimum experience in Onshore Wind or similar heavy industry.
• Nominated Electrical Supervisor per license for the company.
• Understanding of basic AC/DC circuits and ability to test/analyze circuits.
• High Voltage switching experience and ability to gain HV certificate.
• Proficient fault finding on electrical and hydraulic equipment.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Capable of climbing wind turbines and performing tasks at height.
• Experience working in remote locations and working autonomously.
• Willing to travel more than 65% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Interpret manuals, specs, bulletins and complete tasks per work instructions.
• Perform maintenance and fault finding on assets.
• Act as HVOA delegate when required.
• Perform high voltage switching per site procedures.
• Ensure work complies with SWMS, LOTO, EHS & QA/QC policies.
• Drive reporting culture and use GEV systems for incident reporting.
• Maintain REC responsibilities and supervise electrical install/maintenance.
• Maintain reports using GEV software tools and databases.
• Submit enquiries to Engineering to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Service Teams.
• Support safety investigations and EHS audits.
