Job summary

The University of Western Australia is seeking a Travel and Expenses Administrator to provide end-to-end support for employee expense claims, corporate card administration, policy guidance, and resolving system and process enquiries.

You will review and audit expense transactions for compliance with policies and funding requirements, and work with a diverse stakeholder group to deliver accurate, timely processing and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience in finance, accounts payable, or financial administration.
  • Strong analytical and data accuracy skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and MS Office.

  • Play a key role in supporting financial governance and compliance at one of Australia's leading universities.

  • Join a collaborative Finance team delivering exceptional customer service and continuous process improvement across the University.

  • Full-time (1 FTE) appointment on an ongoing basis.

  • Base salary range: Level 5, $86,540 – $95,920 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.


About the area

Finance supports the University’s financial stewardship through strategic advice, financial management, procurement, compliance, and operational services. Working across the institution, the team partners with staff, students, and leaders to ensure sound financial practices, informed decision-making, and outstanding service delivery.


The Travel and Expenses function plays a vital role in supporting University staff with travel, corporate card, and expense management processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a positive user experience.


About the opportunity

About you


  • Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in a finance, accounts, expenses, accounts payable, or financial administration environment, with strong knowledge of financial processes and compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and contribute positively within a collaborative team.
