Job summary

Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation delivering Disability and Therapy Services for children, adolescents and adults. You will provide safe, therapeutic support to young people aged 12–18 years within a residential setting, focusing on emotional wellbeing, regulation and development.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or ability to obtain), experience in residential care or Out of Home Care, and a commitment to trauma-informed,

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or ability to obtain
• Experience in residential care, youth services, or Out of Home Care programs
• Passion for supporting children and young people using person-centred approach
• Knowledge of child protection legislation, care standards and trauma-informed care
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and cross-cultural experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer proficiency
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, sleepovers and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, therapeutic and trauma-informed support to young people aged 12–18 years
• Support emotional wellbeing, development and resilience within a multidisciplinary care team
• Help maintain a structured, nurturing home environment that empowers positive outcomes
