Job summary

HCA Youth and Community Services is seeking a casual Residential Youth Worker to support children and young people in out-of-home care. You will respond to complex behaviours, including trauma-related and neurodiverse needs, with compassion and resilience.

The role offers advance rostering and weekly emergency/ad hoc shifts, with hourly rates depending on penalties. You will build safe relationships, assist with daily living, transport youths to activities, and participate in trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Hold or study towards a Certificate IV in Youth Work or related field.
• Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
• Willing to work day, night and weekend shifts
• Willing to obtain listed certifications: First Aid & CPR, Hope and Healing 10, LCS Personal History Screening

Responsibilities

• Create safety, stability and predictability for at-risk youth.
• Empower daily living with personal care, meals and hygiene.
• Facilitate transportation to school, appointments and activities.
• Promote growth through emotional regulation and social connection.
• Manage health needs, including medication administration and reporting.
• Deliver trauma-informed care using trauma-informed approaches and TCI model.
• Engage in Trauma Recovery framework and complete TCI within first three months.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualised support plans.
• Maintain wellbeing and resilience through reflective practice and supervision.
