Job summary

HCA Youth, in partnership with Dynamic Community Care, is seeking compassionate Residential Youth Workers to support children and young people in out-of-home care across residential, community access, outreach and family contact settings.

You will work with a trauma-informed approach, assist with daily living, transport, health needs and behavioural support, with rosters that provide stability in a casual environment and access to supervision and wellbeing resources.

Qualifications

• Hold a certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services, or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 months experience in Residential Youth Services, or industry-relevant transferable skills.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting trauma-related challenging behaviours.
• Hold an Australian Drivers Licence (QLD Open Only).
• Possess a Working With Children Check (Blue Card).
• Availability to work across AM/PM/Active night shifts.
• Has or is willing to obtain the following certifications:
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
• LCS Personal History Screening
• Hope and Healing 10 training.

Responsibilities

• Create safety, stability and predictability with young people in out-of-home care.
• Empower daily living through assistance with personal care, meals and hygiene.
• Facilitate transportation to school, appointments and activities.
• Promote growth by supporting emotional regulation and social connection.
• Manage health needs including medication administration and reporting.
• Deliver trauma-informed care using a consistent approach with TCi planning.
