Job summary

MacKillop Family Services in Maitland, NSW is seeking ITC Youth Workers to support young people in their daily lives within our Out of Home Care program. Roles range from casual to full-time, with a focus on trauma-informed care and stable, compassionate support.

You will contribute to a safe, structured home environment, respond to trauma-related behaviours, and collaborate with a strong team to empower youths toward resilience and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Services is required.
• Genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
• Empathy for young people in care in an open, nonjudgmental manner.
• Strong capacity for emotional self-regulation and boundary setting to provide safety and stability.

Responsibilities

• Support young people in daily life, helping them build practical and emotional skills.
• Respond to trauma-related behaviours with care and professional insight.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the home, including household tasks and admin.
• Work as part of a values-driven team that supports each other and the young people daily.
