Job summary

The Benevolent Society is seeking a Child & Family Practitioner to support families in Gosford through the FamiliesTogether program. You will deliver home-based, strengths-based support to keep children safe and thriving, with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice guiding your work.

You will visit families at home, assess needs, develop family-led plans, and coordinate practical supports with partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or related field (Diploma or higher).
• Experience delivering intensive casework with vulnerable children and families.
• Trauma-informed practice, child safety and risk assessment awareness.
• Strong communication and engagement with families and partners.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence and NSW Working With Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide home based intervention, including regular family visits and direct engagement.
• Assess family strengths, needs and risks, and develop clear family-led support plans.
• Deliver practical and evidence-informed interventions, including parenting support, advocacy and service coordination.
• Maintain accurate documentation and work collaboratively with families, colleagues and partner services.
