Job summary

ACT Health and Community Services Directorate invites applications for a Child and Youth Protection Professional Level 1 in Canberra. You will protect and support vulnerable children and young people and work with families and multi-disciplinary teams to provide stabilising, trauma-informed care.

You will develop professional relationships with community partners and engage across child protection and youth justice pathways, from early support to court work and out-of-home-care.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline.
• Driver’s license (C class) is essential.
• WWVP registration and National Police Check required.

Responsibilities

• Protect children and young people at risk of abuse and neglect.
• Work with families and multi-disciplinary teams to provide support.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with community partners.
• Engage across child protection and youth justice pathways, from early support to court work to out-of-home-care.
