Job summary

University of Sydney invites applications for a Casual Safer Communities Case Officer at Camperdown. You will provide trauma-informed case management and risk assessment for students and staff, managing a sensitive caseload with referrals to appropriate services.

You will engage with internal and external stakeholders, maintain confidential records, and support a safe wellbeing environment while adhering to professional boundaries and wellbeing strategies.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related discipline.
• Experience in counselling, wellbeing, community services, domestic and family violence, or other trauma-informed settings.
• Demonstrated experience managing an individual caseload and supporting clients through complex matters.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, risk assessment and appropriate support pathways.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to build rapport and manage challenging conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed case management, risk assessment and support for individuals with complex wellbeing and safety concerns.
• Manage a caseload, develop support plans and coordinate referrals to appropriate services.
• Respond to enquiries via phone, email and referrals in a timely, professional manner.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the University and external services.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records while contributing to a safe service environment.
