Job summary

Anglicare WA in Derby, WA is seeking a Counsellor for Marooloo Child Sexual Abuse Services to provide therapeutic supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people under 25 who have experienced trauma. You will contribute through assessment, referral and counselling for children, parents and extended family members.

You will work co-located with Anglicare WA staff in Derby and receive clinical supervision remotely from our Broome office, with a full-time fixed-term contract to 31

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
• Significant trauma-focused experience with children and young people.
• Culturally appropriate practice with Aboriginal clients.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload.
• Experience with IT systems; Athena Penelope is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people under 25 who have experienced trauma.
• Offer consultation, assessment, referral and counselling for children, parents and carers.
• Develop and deliver educational groups for parents, carers, children and community members.
• Collaborate with local agencies and services for referrals and ongoing client support.
• Work co-located with Anglicare WA staff and receive supervision.
