Job summary

Linfox Pty Ltd in West Melbourne, VIC, is seeking a Load Planner to optimise freight movements across our national Intermodal network. The role focuses on balancing customer requirements, network capacity and operational efficiency to develop effective transport plans that keep freight moving safely and on time.

You will work with Operations, Customer Service and stakeholders, gaining exposure to complex logistics challenges while contributing to continuous improvement and service outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience in transport operations, allocation, scheduling, fleet control or load planning roles.
• Ability to proactively plan ahead and make informed decisions for operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
• Track record of identifying practical solutions to transport challenges while maintaining service performance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across customers, suppliers, operations and support functions.
• Hands-on experience using transport management and planning systems.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining safety and service focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop load plans to maximise network utilisation while meeting customer service requirements.
• Coordinate freight movements across the Intermodal network to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service and stakeholders to execute daily transport plans.
• Identify and resolve transport planning challenges to minimise disruption.
• Monitor freight volumes, schedules and capacity to support proactive decisions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and outcomes.

What does the job look like?

Join a high-performing team within Linfox Intermodal and play a critical role in optimising freight movements across our national network. As a Load Planner, you'll balance customer requirements, network capacity and operational efficiency to develop effective transport plans that keep freight moving safely and on time. Working alongside transport operations, customer service and key stakeholders, you'll gain valuable exposure to complex logistics challenges while building your career with one of Australia's leading supply chain organisations.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity located at our Intermodal Head Office in West Melbourne, working Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Key areas:

• Develop effective load plans that maximise network utilisation while meeting customer service requirements
• Coordinate freight movements across the Intermodal network to ensure safe, efficient and on-time delivery outcomes
• Partner with Operations, Customer Service and key stakeholders to execute daily transport plans and address service requirements
• Identify and resolve transport planning challenges to minimise disruption and maintain network performance
• Monitor freight volumes, transit schedules and capacity requirements to support proactive decision-making
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, efficiency and customer outcomes

You bring experience from a transport, logistics or supply chain environment and enjoy working at the heart of the operation and you're motivated by finding practical solutions, building strong stakeholder relationships and delivering exceptional service outcomes. You can demonstrate:

• Previous success in transport operations, allocation, scheduling, fleet control or load planning roles
• The ability to proactively plan ahead and make informed decisions that support operational efficiency and customer outcomes
• A track record of identifying practical solutions to transport challenges and maintaining service performance in a dynamic environment
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience liaising across customers, suppliers, operational teams and support functions
• Hands-on experience using transport management and planning systems to coordinate freight movements and maximise network performance
• The capability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service and operational outcomes
