Job summary

SS FALCONSPTY LTD in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking a Transport/Fleet Manager to lead our operations, combining practical knowledge with leadership to drive efficient transport and fleet services.

You will plan and oversee vehicle operations, coordinate staff, supervise repairs and maintenance, and monitor costs while ensuring service quality and customer relationships. A Licence for medium–heavy vehicles and strong organisational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma with 1 to 3 years full time or equivalent part time previous experience in a similar role
• Licence to drive medium to heavy vehicles
• Able to work Independently, as well as with a team
• Good organisational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Organises and control the operations fleet of Vehicles to transport goods and passengers
• Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements
• Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, and facilities
• Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services
• Recommend or authorize capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or vehicles in order to increase efficiency and service
• Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes
• Organising the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment
• Responsible for scheduling transport and delivery times, allocating resources, organising vehicle maintenance and repairs, and developing a relationship with customers, receiving orders and bookings, implementing transporting schedules
• Ensuring goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality
• Arranging collection and delivery of vehicles and goods
