Job summary

Hornsby Shire Council is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to lead the transport asset renewal and maintenance program. The role focuses on translating asset condition data and community needs into prioritized projects aligned with the council's Delivery Program and Long-Term Financial Plan.

You will coordinate asset data capture, risk assessment and project scoping with clear timelines and budgets for handover to delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with significant experience in roads design, construction and maintenance.
• Strong track record in road asset management, data-driven decision making and risk assessment.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to influence across technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a prioritised asset renewal, improvement and maintenance program for transport assets.
• Translate asset condition data and community needs into projects aligned with the Delivery Program, Operational Program and Long-Term Financial Plan.
• Organise asset condition capture, assess risk, prioritise the program, and develop project scopes, timelines and budgets before handover to delivery teams.
