Job summary

Green Light Worldwide in Canberra seeks an experienced Transition Manager to lead large-scale transition activities. You will coordinate disengagement and onboarding of providers, develop an integrated transition plan, and manage risks across Commonwealth and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex transition projects with multiple stakeholders and providers.

• Role Title: Transition Manager

Role Description

We are seeking experienced Transition Manager to Lead and coordinate Transition activities for large scale project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate transition activities associated with the disengagement of incumbent providers and onboarding of new providers.


• Develop, maintain, and manage an integrated transition plan and master schedule across the Commonwealth, outgoing providers, and incoming providers.


• Identify, assess, manage, and report transition risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation activities.


• Coordinate Commonwealth activities and obligations required to support successful transition outcomes, including approvals, Government Furnished Material (GFM), data provision, and decision-making.


• Support the establishment of new commercial and operational arrangements to ensure continuity of service during transition activities.


• Coordinate and monitor innovation and transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with approved Commonwealth objectives, milestones, and benefits.


• Develop and coordinate project plans associated with transition and transformation activities, including schedule, stakeholder, dependency, and risk management.


• Prepare project reporting, briefing material and governance artefacts to support Commonwealth decision-making and oversight.


• Coordinate stakeholders across Commonwealth, industry, and delivery partners to ensure alignment of activities, schedules, and outcomes.


• Monitor and report progress against approved plans, identifying emerging risks, issues, and opportunities.

Required Skills

Proven experience managing complex transition and project activities involving multiple stakeholders, contracts, and service providers.

• Demonstrated capability in integrated planning, schedule management, dependency management, and delivery coordination.


• Strong experience in risk and issue identification, assessment, management, and reporting.


• Sound understanding of Commonwealth procurement, contract management, and commercial environments.


• Experience managing provider onboarding, disengagement, and transition activities.


• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and coordination skills across government and industry organisations.


• Experience supporting transformation, change, and innovation initiatives within structured governance frameworks.


• Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, briefing papers, governance artefacts, and executive-level communications.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Experience working within Defence, Commonwealth or other large government environments is highly desirable.

Desirable Qualifications

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Business, ICT, Engineering, or a related discipline.


• PRINCE2, MSP, PMBOK/PMP, Agile Project Management or equivalent qualifications.


• Experience using Microsoft Project and other project management and reporting tools.
