Job summary

The Department of Defence invites applications for the Transition Centre Second in Command (2IC) to support Australian Defence Force members and their families as they transition to civilian life.

You will work with the Officer in Charge to deliver high-quality transition services, guide complex matters, and build productive relationships with Defence personnel, APS and external organisations to enhance outcomes for members and families.

Qualifications

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within integrated teams.
• Trauma-informed approach when supporting members.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Defence Force Transition Program.
• Conduct transition support sessions.
• Assist members to develop individualised Transition Plans.
• Facilitate referrals to specialist services.
• Provide advice on available transition benefits and administrative processes.
• Act as escalation point for complex enquiries.
