Yass Valley Council is seeking a reliable Transfer Station Operator to join our local government team on a full-time basis at multiple council transfer stations. The role supports safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the waste transfer facilities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean site, assisting customers with disposal and recycling, sorting containers, monitoring for contamination, and recording daily takings.

Qualifications

Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain clean, safe and well-presented facility.
Assist customers with recycling and waste disposal.
Provide friendly and professional customer service to the community.
Monitor dump sites for contamination and illegal dumping.
Collect recyclables and items of monetary value.
Record daily takings and reconcile information.
Work safely and adhere to WHS policies.
